Kramer Orthopedics: Our Treatments
|
|
Patients with longstanding, unremitting neck and/or low back pain may experience significant pain relief with
the administration of cervical or lumbar facet blocks. These are fluoroscopic guided spinal injection techniques
that target the medical branch nerve to the facets. Blocking these medial branch nerves interrupts the transmission
of pain signals from the spine as well as diminishes the pain-spasm feedback loop. Patients who have good, but temporary,
relief following the medial branch blocks, can be treated with Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation (RFTC) of the medial
branch nerves.
This technique is capable of providing longlasting relief of neck pain or low back pain.
