Kramer Orthopedics: Our Treatments
|
|
This is a procedure done to promote marrow production in areas where articular defects (areas of bare bone) are present.
The procedure is accomplished by utilizing a small pick to break through the subchondral bone. This allows for the potential
of stem cells to produce a new fibro-cartilage to grow. Typically patients are non-weight bearing for a period of 1 to 8 weeks
depending on the area treated.
